$1,000 Flip-Flops For Teens. Barf.
If you consider fashion to be as addictive as crack, Louis Vuitton is acting like that drug dealer who lurks around the bleachers at high schools. The brand is now marketing $1,000 flip-flops to teens, thanks to a cagey marketing campaign starring TikTok queen Charli D'Amelio. As a veteran style writer, I've grumbled when upscale designers hit up kids throughout my career. Back in 2007, I wrote my very first L.A. Times article entitled "Design Schooled" about teen girls carrying $15,000 Hermes Birkins as book bags at Archer, a fancy private high school. (The school banned designer purses after my story ran.)
