Take Off Your Shoes and Walk
I love easy life tweaks: walking barefoot--also known as "earthing" or strolling on soil, sand or grass--is one of those small adjustments with big benefits. Studies have shown that walking on your bare soles helps to regulate your nervous system and boosts the circulation of red blood cells. Barefoot activities can also improve your balance and posture and prevent shin splints, plantar fasciitis, stress fractures, and tendonitis in the Achilles tendon, according to Ithaca College’s School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. At dusk tonight, I'll be walking a few laps on my lawn. Come on over.
