The Broken Rung

Climbing a ladder with a broken rung is a bitch. In a just released and bracing report on women in the workplace, McKinsey & Company reveals that for every 100 men promoted to manager, only 86 women move up to the same job. This is particularly problematic because a stopgap at this level means that fewer of us make it to senior positions. Hence, the broken rung. Even more alarming is that women of color account for only 4% of C-suite leaders and that figure hasn't budged in the past three years. The report also details the importance of allyship and really acting on diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) initiatives. So worth a read, ladies.
