Meet: Michelle Wu, Boston's New Mayor
Michelle Wu just made history as the first Asian female elected to mayor of Boston. Yes, ma'am! This 36-year-old Taiwanese-American lawyer served as a Boston City Councilor and supports the Green New Deal, rent control and paid family leave. (Only 19% of workers in the U.S. have access to paid family leave through their employers.) On her website, Wu says: "Growing up, I never thought I would run for office one day. As the daughter of immigrants, I understood from my youngest days how my family and so many others feel unseen and unheard in our society." We see you. We hear you. We support you, Mayor Wu.
