Time To Get A (Sleep) Divorce?

Pretty Ripe | Volume 49 - Time To Get A Sleep Divorce

You love each other but...getting enough sleep is near impossible because one of you snores like a grizzly bear or thrashes in the night. Don't stress. You're not alone. Recently, 35% of couples admitted in a survey that they were considering sleeping in separate beds; 59% said they were happier snoozing apart. The reality is this: not getting enough rest will profoundly affect your ability to function and your relationship. If your sleep is deeply compromised every night, talk about it with your partner in a non-confrontational way. (Middle of the night fights about a sleep disorder are not advised.) Try a night apart and see how it feels. You can always spend 20 or 30 minutes together in bed before one of you decamps for a spare bedroom or sofa. For more advice on how to get better rest--apart or together--read on.
