Gucci Got Nothing On Sleep
Sleep is the epitome of luxury. Sadly, many women—especially front line workers—can’t lull their brains and bodies for the hours they need to recharge. Fact: more than one in four women ages 40 to 59 find it difficult to fall and stay asleep.
If you can prioritize anything right now, please put “rest” atop your list. Sleep deprivation adversely affects your mood, your skin and your overall health. Did you know that sleeping less than five hours makes you crave crappy food? Oh and lack of rest makes it harder to diffuse anger. Anger? What anger!
Here’s an idea: think of sleep as a status symbol. Instead of splurging on shoes, invest in new sheets or a humidifier or a silk sleep mask. Or better yet, try a FREE app like SleepScore to monitor your patterns so you can accessorize accordingly. (And if you’re waking up with persistent night sweats, talk to your gynecologist about hormone replacement therapy or plant-based remedies.) Now, get to bed. The world needs you.
