Don't Die Of Skin Cancer

Irish people with fair skin and a tendency toward melanoma like me know the sun can kill us. But everyone should be mindful of Mother Nature's unintentional wrath. Some facts to scare you:

• More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all other cancers combined.

• The estimated five-year melanoma survival rate for Black people is only 67 percent, versus 92 percent for whites.
