Revenge Bedtime Procrastination
Watching Netflix into the wee hours? Mindlessly scrolling Insta or TikTok after midnight? You're engaging in what Chinese workaholics call, "revenge bedtime procrastination." In essence, we stay up late to get the "me time" we are denied during the day. Sadly, this vicious cycle leaves us looking and feeling lousy. A few tips to break the habit:
No tech an hour before bed. Read, meditate, listen to music.
Take time out in your day for yourself--even if it's just to walk around the block. These mini "me moments" reduce stress and resentment about being busy.
Try a hot soak or shower before you hop into bed. This nighttime ritual will train your brain to quiet down and relax.
